Story
Without the right data, he could not see which jobs were leaking — or what to do about it. So he built Tockly.
Architecture and professional services firms live on people hours. Fees look solid until salaries and time overrun the plan. Spreadsheets and late reports never closed that gap in time to act.
Tockly started as a practical answer from an architect who felt those same problems: connect timesheets to project cost, show each job against its own fees, and test a proposed fee before you commit. The tools are deliberately simple — not overcomplicated — so they fit into daily routine without adding workload. They are shaped by what works in real consultancies, not by feature checklists.
The same problems show up for engineers, lawyers, designers, and other salary-heavy consultancies — so the product grew for that world, not for generic “project management.”
Tockly's mission is to equip consultants with the tools to understand and manage their costs, to achieve sustainable profitability.
A small change in cost does not move profit by the same amount. It moves it by much more.
Scenario 1
Let's say a typical job is 80% cost, 20% profit.
